Fire Retardant -
Die Cut Bags
- Open the Glo-Thru bag and pour approximately
four inches (2 to2 ½ cups) of sand into it. The correct amount of sand will stabilize the
Glo-Thru bag and will allow the light to shine through at the proper height
for 8-10 hours.
- Place the candle in the center of the sand pile. Make
certain the candle is upright and straight.
- If the candle is centered in the bag, the bag may almost be
closed at the top using the side creases.
- For maximum lighting and decorative effect, place the bags
about four feet apart.
- A light snow will not prevent the lighting of Luminaries.
- After the candle extinguishes, store the sand for your next
Luminaria.
White 6-lb. Bags
- Take a white bag and fold down the top approximately three
inches to give the bag stability.
- Pour approximately four inches (2 to2 ½ cups) of sand into
each bag.
- Place the candle in the center of the sand pile. Make
certain the candle is upright and straight.
- For maximum lighting and decorative effect, place the bags
about four feet apart.
Helpful Hints
- Kitty litter or soil may be used in place of sand.
- Two liter soda bottles may be placed inside the bags to hold
candles:
Soak off labels
Cut the top off the bottle about 6 inches
Assemble the luminaria using the bottle
in the bag
- Fireplace matches or barbecue grill lighters are helpful in
lighting the candles.
- Add sand to all bags ahead of time, put in place, then add
the candle and light.
